The way you have placed the wasp slightly off center adds a degree of interest to the wasp, whereas central placement does not seem to engage the mind (rule of thirds).

The wasp seems to be missing an antennae, but nevertheless, it is a good subject, and the angle again adds more interest to the piece as a whole, as well as the inclusion of the few but striking colours.

The focus is good, the subject is well positioned in the focal range which gives it the vivid detail of the eyes and the pollen entrapped in it's hairs.

Overall, the contrasting colours create a very good impact which makes the piece stand out on the whole very well.
